Lee Bright started working regularly with us in the spring of 2015, but he’s been around since the beginning! When Ray first started up the business, Lee would step in and help out when big jobs would come up. We definitely appreciate his dedication to service and attention to detail (and our customers do, too)!
Tell us a little about yourself.
I grew up in Wake Forest, N.C., a small town where everyone knows everyone. I came to the big city of Charlotte to fulfill my dream of being a career firefighter in 2005. Being a firefighter was only natural since both my father and grandfather were firemen also.
I’m married to my wonderful wife Kristen for nearly 7 years and we have a charismatic son, Trevor, who will be 4 in November 2017. We also have two labs, Shep and Dixie, that are spoiled rotten.
How did you get involved with CPW?
Ray and I worked together at the same firehouse when he was just getting CPW up and running. At the time he was working by himself and some of us at the firehouse would help out when big jobs came up.
Before working at Carolina Power Washing, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
My family owned a funeral home, monument, and grave digging businesses when I was growing up. I’ve done everything from help my dad dig graves, to setting mausoleums and monuments.
How do you balance your job at Carolina Power Washing with the Fire Department?
My fire department schedule is set up in such a way that we have two or four days off in a row every 2 weeks or so. Believe it or not, but four days off in a row can be long – that’s one of the reasons so many firefighters have part-time jobs. I utilize these breaks to work for CPW which creates a nice balance and still allows me to spend time with my family.
What’s your favorite part about working with Carolina Power Washing?
I am not someone that can sit behind a desk and working for CPW provides a great alternative. It is nice to see results from our work right in front of us – and of course, satisfying our customers.
What do you find most challenging there about your job?
In my opinion, the most challenging part is also one of the fun parts. Each job is different. There will be different details or circumstances that we come across and the challenge is to do the best job possible in an efficient manner. That means being flexible and customizing our work for each project.
What was your proudest moment?
While I can’t narrow it down to just one, I would have to say my proudest moments are the day I married my wife, the birth of our son and when I was promoted to captain.
What’s something people might not know about you?
I would one day like to visit every continent in the world.
Favorite place to hang out? Who is usually with you?
I enjoy trips to the beach or mountains with my wife and son, but I’m not opposed to a good night at home or a baseball game and a cold beer.
Tell us about your favorite assignment or client experience.
My favorite client experience is leaving a client satisfied with our work and a renewed air of pride in the beauty of their property.
Thanks for sharing a little more about yourself with us, Lee!
